Batura Glacier Trek – Upper Hunza, Pakistan
Tour Overview
The Batura Glacier Trek is one of the most spectacular wilderness treks in the Karakoram, taking you deep into the remote Batura Valley above Passu in Upper Hunza. The route follows the northern side of the Batura Glacier through dramatic moraine landscapes, alpine meadows and traditional Wakhi summer pastures, with enormous 7,000-metre peaks rising above the valley. The trekking route generally reaches around 3,700–3,900 m rather than attempting the much higher Batura peaks. The trek combines challenging mountain walking with extraordinary scenery and cultural encounters. Along the way, trekkers can experience the seasonal lifestyle of Wakhi communities, where families traditionally bring livestock and yaks to high summer pastures.
