Visa & Entry Requirements
Tourist Visa
Most nationalities can obtain a Pakistan tourist visa online through the Pakistan Online Visa System. The process typically takes 7-10 working days.
NOC for Gilgit-Baltistan
Foreign tourists need a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to visit Gilgit-Baltistan. We arrange this for you as part of our tour packages.
Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, trip cancellation, and high-altitude trekking is strongly recommended.
Passport Validity
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Pakistan.
Packing Checklist
Clothing
Layered clothing is essential. Pack thermal base layers, fleece jackets, waterproof outer shell, comfortable hiking pants, and warm socks. A down jacket is recommended for higher altitudes.
Footwear
Sturdy waterproof hiking boots with good ankle support are essential. Pack comfortable sandals or sneakers for evenings.
Gear
Backpack (40-50L), reusable water bottle, headlamp, sunglasses, sunscreen SPF 50+, lip balm, and a rain cover for your backpack.
Extras
First-aid kit, power bank, camera, binoculars, dry bags, trekking poles, and a travel pillow for long drives.
Getting There & Around
By Air
Fly into Islamabad (ISB) from major international cities. Domestic flights connect Islamabad to Gilgit, Skardu, and Chitral. Flights offer stunning aerial views of the mountains.
By Road
The Karakoram Highway (KKH) is one of the most scenic drives in the world. The journey from Islamabad to Hunza takes approximately 10-12 hours.
Local Transport
We provide private 4x4 vehicles with experienced drivers for all our tours. Public transport includes buses, vans, and shared jeeps.
Road Conditions
Roads can be unpredictable due to weather. Always check conditions before traveling. Our team monitors road updates daily.
Culture & Etiquette
Dress Code
Dress modestly, especially in rural areas. Women should cover shoulders and knees. Lightweight scarves are useful for visiting religious sites.
Greetings
The traditional greeting is "Assalam-o-Alaikum". A handshake with a smile is common. Always use your right hand for handshakes and giving items.
Photography
Always ask permission before photographing locals, especially women. Some military areas prohibit photography.
Hospitality
Locals are incredibly hospitable. It is customary to accept tea or food when offered. A polite refusal is acceptable if needed.

Altitude Acclimatization
Many destinations are above 2,500m. Ascend gradually, stay hydrated, and avoid alcohol during the first few days. We build acclimatization days into all itineraries.
Food & Water
Drink bottled or filtered water. Local cuisine is delicious and safe — try daal, chapati, and fresh apricots. Inform us of dietary restrictions in advance.
Currency
Pakistani Rupee (PKR). Carry sufficient cash as ATMs are limited in remote valleys. Major towns have banks and exchange services.
Connectivity
Cellular coverage is available in most valleys but limited in high-altitude areas. We provide satellite communication for emergency use on treks.
