Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Islamabad Arrival at Islamabad International Airport. Meet the expedition team and transfer to the hotel. Expedition briefing and equipment checking. Overnight: Islamabad Day 2 – Islamabad → Skardu Morning flight from Islamabad to Skardu. Transfer to the hotel and rest. Overnight: Skardu Day 3 – Skardu Expedition preparation day. Final equipment checks, permits, food supplies and preparation for the journey to Nagar. Overnight: Skardu Day 4 – Skardu → Nagar Drive from Skardu toward Nagar Valley through the spectacular mountain landscape of Gilgit-Baltistan. Overnight: Nagar Day 5 – Nagar Final expedition preparations in Nagar. Organize porters, climbing equipment and Base Camp supplies. Overnight: Nagar Day 6 – Nagar → Minapin Drive/transfer to Minapin, the starting point for the Rakaposhi Base Camp approach. Overnight: Minapin Day 7 – Minapin → Hapakun Begin the trek toward Rakaposhi Base Camp through forests and alpine terrain. Overnight: Hapakun Camp Day 8 – Hapakun → Taghafari Continue the ascent toward Taghafari, with spectacular views of Rakaposhi and the surrounding Karakoram. Overnight: Taghafari Camp Day 9 – Taghafari → Rakaposhi Base Camp Trek toward Rakaposhi Base Camp and establish the expedition camp. Overnight: Rakaposhi Base Camp Days 10–13 – Acclimatization & Preparation Rest and acclimatization at Base Camp. Conduct glacier training, equipment checks and preparation for the first climbing rotation. Days 14–18 – First Climbing Rotation Begin the first rotation on Rakaposhi. Carry equipment to higher elevations, establish/cache supplies and progressively acclimatize. Days 19–21 – Rest at Base Camp Return to Base Camp for recovery, nutrition and preparation for the next climbing rotation. Days 22–26 – Second Climbing Rotation Climb progressively higher, prepare the route and establish/stock the higher camps. Days 27–29 – Summit Preparation Return to Base Camp or an appropriate lower camp for recovery. Final equipment inspection and summit strategy. Days 30–34 – Final Summit Push Begin the final ascent toward the higher camps. Summit Attempt – Rakaposhi 7,788m After the summit attempt, descend progressively toward Base Camp. Day 35 – Return to Base Camp Complete the descent and recover at Base Camp. Pack expedition equipment. Day 36 – Base Camp → Taghafari Descend from Rakaposhi Base Camp to Taghafari. Overnight: Taghafari Day 37 – Taghafari → Hapakun → Minapin Continue descending through the mountain trail and return to Minapin. Overnight: Minapin Day 38 – Minapin → Nagar Transfer from Minapin back to Nagar. Overnight: Nagar Day 39 – Nagar → Skardu Drive back toward Skardu. Overnight: Skardu Day 40 – Skardu → Islamabad Flight from Skardu to Islamabad. Transfer to Islamabad International Airport for onward travel. End of Expedition
