The journey starts in Islamabad and travels north through Chilas and Astore before reaching Tarashing in the Rupal Valley. From Tarashing, the trekking route passes beneath the spectacular Rupal Face of Nanga Parbat before continuing toward Shaigiri and Mazeno Base Camp. After acclimatization, the team climbs toward Mazeno High Camp and crosses the 5,399m Mazeno Pass, descending toward Upper Loiba on the Diamir side. The route then continues through remote alpine settlements and valleys toward Nanga Parbat's Diamir Base Camp, completing the circuit around the mountain before returning to Chilas and Islamabad. Day-by-Day Itinerary

1

18-Day Itinerary Arrival at Islamabad International Airport. Airport transfer, hotel check-in and expedition briefing. Overnight: Islamabad Day 02 – Islamabad to Chilas Drive north along the Karakoram Highway toward Chilas. Depending on road and seasonal conditions, the journey may take approximately 10–12 hours. Overnight: Chilas Day 03 – Chilas to Astore / Tarashing Continue toward Astore and then by 4x4 toward Tarashing in the Rupal Valley. Overnight: Tarashing Day 04 – Tarashing to Herrligkoffer Base Camp Begin trekking into the Rupal Valley. The trail climbs through alpine terrain beneath the enormous Rupal Face. Trekking: Approximately 5–6 hours Overnight: Herrligkoffer Base Camp Day 05 – Herrligkoffer Base Camp to Shaigiri Continue through alpine pastures toward Shaigiri, with spectacular views of Nanga Parbat and the surrounding peaks. Trekking: Approximately 5–7 hours Overnight: Shaigiri Camp Day 06 – Acclimatization at Shaigiri Rest and acclimatization day. Optional short hikes around the camp to help the team adjust to altitude. Overnight: Shaigiri Camp Day 07 – Shaigiri to Mazeno Base Camp Continue toward Mazeno Base Camp through increasingly rugged alpine terrain. Trekking: Approximately 5–6 hours Overnight: Mazeno Base Camp Day 08 – Mazeno Base Camp to Mazeno High Camp Steep ascent toward Mazeno High Camp. The terrain becomes increasingly glaciated and alpine. Trekking: Approximately 5–6 hours Overnight: Mazeno High Camp Day 09 – Mazeno Pass Crossing to Upper Loiba The most demanding day of the trek. Start early and climb toward Mazeno Pass (5,399m). After crossing the pass, descend steep terrain toward Upper Loiba. Snow, ice and crevassed sections may require technical equipment and fixed ropes depending on conditions. Trekking: Approximately 8–10 hours Overnight: Upper Loiba Day 10 – Upper Loiba to Lower Loiba Descend through the spectacular Loiba Valley, gradually moving from high alpine terrain toward greener mountain pastures. Trekking: Approximately 4–6 hours Overnight: Loiba Camp Day 11 – Loiba to Zangot / Kutgali Continue through remote mountain settlements and alpine terrain toward Zangot and Kutgali. Trekking: Approximately 5–7 hours Overnight: Kutgali Day 12 – Kutgali to Diamir Valley Continue across the Diamir-side trail toward the Nanga Parbat massif. Trekking: Approximately 5–7 hours Overnight: Mountain Camp Day 13 – Diamir Base Camp Trek toward Nanga Parbat Diamir Base Camp, located beneath the mountain's dramatic Diamir Face. Trekking: Approximately 4–6 hours Overnight: Diamir Base Camp Day 14 – Diamir Base Camp Exploration Rest and explore the Base Camp surroundings. Enjoy views of Nanga Parbat and the surrounding peaks. Overnight: Diamir Base Camp Day 15 – Diamir Base Camp to Sair Begin descending toward the lower valleys. Trekking: Approximately 5–7 hours Overnight: Sair Camp Day 16 – Sair to Bunardass / Chilas Continue the descent toward Bunardass and transfer by vehicle to Chilas. Overnight: Chilas Day 17 – Chilas to Islamabad Drive back toward Islamabad via the Karakoram Highway. Overnight: Islamabad Day 18 – Departure Transfer to Islamabad International Airport for your onward flight.

This is a strenuous high-altitude trek suitable for experienced trekkers with good physical fitness and previous experience at altitude. The route reaches 5,399 m at Mazeno Pass and includes steep, exposed and potentially snow- or ice-covered terrain. The descent from Mazeno Pass can require fixed ropes, crampons and other technical equipment depending on current conditions. Weather and mountain conditions can change rapidly, and the itinerary may be adjusted by the expedition leader when required for safety.
