The expedition begins in Islamabad and travels north to Fairy Meadows, where the journey starts beneath the dramatic Nanga Parbat massif. After visiting Nanga Parbat Base Camp, the expedition continues toward Skardu and Askole, the gateway to the Baltoro Glacier. From Askole, trek through the Braldu Valley and onto the Baltoro Glacier, passing some of the world's most spectacular mountain scenery before reaching Concordia. From Concordia, continue toward K2 Base Camp and return to the upper Baltoro before crossing the spectacular Gondogoro La. The route then descends through the Gondogoro Valley to Hushe before returning to Skardu and Islamabad. Depending on current mountain conditions, the crossing may require: • Crampons • Ice axe • Harness • Helmet • Ropes • Carabiners • Trekking poles The exact equipment and route will be determined by the Eco Adventure Tours mountain team according to current snow, ice and route conditions. If Gondogoro La becomes unsafe or inaccessible, the expedition may be rerouted via the Baltoro Glacier. Participants should have good physical fitness and previous experience with multi-day trekking. The Gondogoro La crossing is dependent on weather, snow, ice and route conditions. The expedition leader may modify the route, delay the crossing or use an alternative route when conditions are considered unsafe. 24-DAY ITINERARY DAY 1 ARRIVAL IN ISLAMABAD Arrival at Islamabad International Airport. Transfer to the hotel and meet the Eco Adventure Tours team. Expedition briefing, document check and final preparation. Overnight: Islamabad DAY 2 ISLAMABAD TO CHILAS Depart early from Islamabad and travel north toward Chilas. The journey follows the Karakoram Highway through the spectacular mountain landscapes of northern Pakistan. Overnight: Chilas DAY 3 CHILAS TO FAIRY MEADOWS Continue toward Raikot Bridge. Transfer by 4x4 jeep to Tato Village. From Tato, trek approximately 2–3 hours to Fairy Meadows. Enjoy spectacular views of Nanga Parbat. Overnight: Fairy Meadows DAY 4 FAIRY MEADOWS – NANGA PARBAT BASE CAMP Trek from Fairy Meadows toward Nanga Parbat Base Camp. The hike passes through alpine forest and mountain terrain toward the dramatic Nanga Parbat massif. Spend time at the base camp area before returning toward Fairy Meadows. Overnight: Fairy Meadows DAY 5 FAIRY MEADOWS TO SKARDU Descend from Fairy Meadows to Tato. Transfer by jeep back to Raikot Bridge and continue by road toward Skardu. Overnight: Skardu DAY 6 SKARDU – REST & EXPEDITION PREPARATION Rest and acclimatization day in Skardu. Complete final preparations for the Baltoro expedition. Meet the trekking team, organize equipment and expedition loads, and complete required permits and logistical arrangements. Overnight: Skardu DAY 7 SKARDU TO ASKOLE Travel by 4x4 jeep from Skardu toward Askole through the Shigar and Braldu valleys. Askole is the last permanent settlement before entering the remote Baltoro region. Overnight: Askole Camp DAY 8 ASKOLE TO JHULA Begin the Baltoro trek. Cross the Braldu River and follow the trail toward Jhula. The expedition enters increasingly remote mountain terrain. Overnight: Jhula Camp DAY 9 JHULA TO PAIJU Continue along the Braldu Valley toward Paiju. The landscape begins to change dramatically as the great Karakoram peaks appear ahead. Overnight: Paiju Camp DAY 10 REST & ACCLIMATIZATION AT PAIJU Rest and acclimatization day at Paiju. Use the day to recover, explore the surrounding area and prepare for the higher-altitude Baltoro section. Overnight: Paiju Camp DAY 11 PAIJU TO KHOBURTSE Begin the Baltoro Glacier approach. Cross increasingly rugged terrain toward Khoburtse. Enjoy views of the Trango Towers and surrounding peaks. Overnight: Khoburtse Camp DAY 12 KHOBURTSE TO URDUKAS / GORO II Continue along the Baltoro Glacier. Depending on trail and glacier conditions, the day's camp will be established at Urdukas or Goro II. The scenery becomes increasingly spectacular, with Masherbrum, Muztagh Tower and the surrounding Karakoram giants dominating the horizon. Overnight: Expedition Camp DAY 13 GORO II TO CONCORDIA Continue across the upper Baltoro Glacier toward Concordia. Reach one of the world's greatest mountain amphitheatres. Concordia offers spectacular views of K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum and numerous surrounding peaks. Overnight: Concordia Camp DAY 14 CONCORDIA TO K2 BASE CAMP AND RETURN Early morning departure toward K2 Base Camp. Continue along the Godwin-Austen Glacier toward the foot of K2. Reach K2 Base Camp and explore the area. Visit the K2 Memorial, subject to conditions and expedition activity. Return toward Concordia. Overnight: Concordia Camp DAY 15 CONCORDIA TO ALI CAMP Leave Concordia and trek toward Ali Camp. The route follows the upper Baltoro toward the Gondogoro Glacier. Prepare equipment for the Gondogoro La crossing. Overnight: Ali Camp DAY 16 ALI CAMP TO KHUSPANG VIA GONDOGORO LA Start very early for the Gondogoro La crossing. This is one of the most demanding days of the expedition. Cross Gondogoro La at approximately 5,585 metres. The route involves steep snow and ice terrain and may require crampons, harnesses, ropes and ice axe depending on current conditions. From the pass, enjoy spectacular views of K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I, Gasherbrum II, Laila Peak and the surrounding Karakoram. Descend toward Khuspang. Overnight: Khuspang Camp DAY 17 KHUSPANG TO SAICHO Descend through the Gondogoro Glacier and continue down the Gondogoro Valley. As altitude decreases, the landscape gradually becomes greener. Overnight: Saicho Camp DAY 18 SAICHO TO HUSHE Continue through the Gondogoro Valley toward Hushe. Reach Hushe village and complete the main trekking section of the expedition. Overnight: Hushe DAY 19 HUSHE TO SKARDU Travel by 4x4 from Hushe toward Skardu. Arrive in Skardu and transfer to the hotel. Overnight: Skardu DAY 20 SKARDU – REST & RECOVERY Rest and recovery day in Skardu. Optional sightseeing and free time. This day also provides flexibility in case of delays earlier in the expedition. Overnight: Skardu DAY 21 SKARDU TO ISLAMABAD Fly from Skardu to Islamabad, subject to weather and flight availability. If flights are disrupted, an alternative road arrangement will be made according to operational conditions. Overnight: Islamabad DAY 22 CONTINGENCY DAY Reserved contingency day for weather, flight disruption, road delays, Gondogoro La delays or other unforeseen circumstances. If no contingency is required, enjoy additional sightseeing or free time in Islamabad. Overnight: Islamabad DAY 23 ISLAMABAD – FREE DAY / DEPARTURE PREPARATION Free day in Islamabad for rest, sightseeing, shopping or final preparations. Overnight: Islamabad DAY 24 DEPARTURE FROM ISLAMABAD Transfer to Islamabad International Airport for the onward international journey. End of Expedition.
