Skardu Travel Guide
Skardu is the gateway to Baltistan, Deosai National Park,
and some of Pakistan’s most spectacular high-altitude landscapes. The
region combines turquoise alpine lakes, cold deserts, historic Balti forts,
mountain valleys and access routes toward K2 and other major Karakoram peaks.
Skardu sits at roughly 2,200–2,400 metres above sea level,
so visitors should allow some time to adjust to the altitude. A 5–7 day trip
is ideal for seeing the main attractions without rushing.
